Organic teak root

The organic forms of our teak root furniture are made from the roots of mature teak trees, harvested in Indonesia. Teak is a precious commodity controlled and responsibly sustained by the Indonesian government. Instead of burning the woods before re-planting, as was done previously, they are now upcycled direct from nature and hand carved into beautiful pieces of furniture.

The overall effect of this collection, highlights the natural wood. Imperfections, rich with knots and gnarls, even colour variations are all characteristics from the original tree stump. These should be viewed as part of its natural beauty and charm. Finally, we finish with a clear coat lacquer, this clear coat emphasizes the stunning colours and accents the unusual wood grain.

Every piece is unique, a one-of-a-kind statement and no two pieces are alike.

Teak has a natural durability and has been held in high esteem for centuries as a timber of choice for boat building. Teak furniture will last many years, when used outdoors, the rich golden tone weathers to a pleasant silver patina.

A masterpiece hand crafted in Java, Indonesia.
